Project Overview
The Port Hedland Inner Harbour Project involves the design, supply, fabrication, installation, upgrading and expansion of BHP Billiton’s Port Ore Handling facilities at Finucane Island
Separable Part 1 at Nelson Point and Separable Part 2 at Finucane Island are for the conveyor/transfer station infrastructures
Project Scope of Works
Construction consists of:
Detailed excavation for construction of pile caps and tie beams
Cutting back of concrete and steel casing piles where applicable
New conveyor module footings and pedestals, slabs, foundations for gravity take-ups and miscellaneous footings for stairs, sump pumps, belt reeling stations, dust collectors etc Backfilling and modification of existing concrete structures
Bridge over conveyor lines with in situ deck and abutment panel walls, earthwork embankments, drainage box culverts, associated rock covering of embankments and then class A roadbase sealed with 40mm asphalt with associated bridge infrastructure such as guardrails and signage, 500m of roadworks and drainage around existing working buildings which also included class A roadbase, kerbing, asphalt surfacing and drainage amongst existing HV Cabling and the outflows of the drainage under existing cable trays and out into the inlet through the existing rock seawall
