Project Overview

  • The West Angelas Deposit B (WADB) Project provides expansion by 6Mtpa to provide a 35Mtpa saleable ore product mine facility. The WADB Project includes the design and construction of a new haul road, diversion berm and diversion channel at Deposit B and associated infrastructure and plant upgrades at Deposit A to provide the increased mine production.
  • The site is located at the West Angelas Mine facility in Western Australia. It is approximately 125km North West of Newman, and approximately 1000km north of Perth by road in the West Pilbara region of North Western Australia.

Project Scope of Works 

Construction consists of:

  • Foundation and subgrade preparation
  • Screening, sorting selection loading and hauling of materials
  • Earthworks and capping works for: EPCM laydown pads, CO51, CO52 and C009 modifications and extensions, stacker transportation road and erection and deconstruction pads, ST03 trackwork earthworks and temporary tie down works, TS51, TS52 and Sample Station pads, communications tower pad capping works
  • Supply and installation of drainage culverts including inlet and outlet structures for: WADB haul road, Deposit B LV access road and Deposit A plant area
  • Erosion protection works for: WADB haul road, Deposit B LV access road and Deposit A plant area
  • Construction of concrete foundation systems including footings, slabs and other general associated concrete items for: FEL Hopper BN201, CO51, CO52, CO09, TS51, TS52, Sampling Facility and Laboratory, electrical substations 1 and 2, finger stockpile lighting towers and communication tower
  • Construction of foundation system and concrete retaining structures for FEL Hopper BN201
  • Detailed backfilling of concrete structures for: FEL Hopper BN201 and retaining wall, CO51, CO52, CO09, TS51, TS52, Sampling Facility and Laboratory, electrical substations 1 and 2, finger stockpile lighting towers and communication tower
  • Concrete supply and mix design
  • Removal and modification of existing concrete foundations and slabs affected by the proposed works
  • Installation of new ST03 machine rail strip footings, trackwork, new turn-around pit, end of travel buffers, jacking pads, dead end box and boom tie down
  • Miscellaneous foundations, footings, slabs and other associated concrete items
