  • The Powder Leach Nickel Sulphate Project involves the development of a plant that will convert nickel metal powder into a nominal 100,000 dry tpa of high purity nickel sulphate-hexahydrate crystal product.
  • The Site is at the Kwinana Nickel Refinery (KNR) in Western Australia.

Project Scope of Works 

Construction consists of:

  • Detailed earthworks – excavate, trim and finish all earthworks by grading and compacting the ground around concrete structures, saw cut the road asphalt surface and remove kerbing falling, remove all waste materials etc

  • The Power System Upgrade 330 Project B (PSU330 B) comprises installation of power generation and transmission system equipment across the Pilbara region of Western Australia, to support expansion of its iron ore mining operations from 230Mtpa to 360Mtpa. This includes the construction of the CLPS.
  • Cape Lambert Power Station is located at Cape Lambert, near the port facility and adjacent to the CLBSS. It is approximately 40 km north east of Karratha, and approximately 1,600km north of Perth by road in the West Pilbara region of the North Western Australia. The town of Wickham is within 10km of the Cape Lambert Facility. There is a daily jet air service linking Perth and Karratha.

  • The North Star Magnetite process plant is located 120km South of Port Hedland. The overall process plant will include two main areas. The first is the main ore processing plant (OPF) that includes crushing, screening, grinding, classification and magnetic separation.
  • The second part known as the concentrate handling facility (CHF) contains filtering and load-out facilities and is located approximately 40km away from the main processing plant local to the Great Northern Highway. An overland pipeline will transfer iron ore concentrate slurry from the OPF to the CHF.

  • The West Angelas Deposit B (WADB) Project provides expansion by 6Mtpa to provide a 35Mtpa saleable ore product mine facility. The WADB Project includes the design and construction of a new haul road, diversion berm and diversion channel at Deposit B and associated infrastructure and plant upgrades at Deposit A to provide the increased mine production.
  • The site is located at the West Angelas Mine facility in Western Australia. It is approximately 125km North West of Newman, and approximately 1000km north of Perth by road in the West Pilbara region of North Western Australia.

  • Yarnima Power Station will involve installation of a gas turbine generator that will operate in open cycle for the first year. The power station will then be expanded to a combined cycle configuration.   • The plant will be installed adjacent to the existing Newman power station located in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The Site is accessible by air, road and rail.   • The Sino Iron project is a highly technical, value-adding operation requiring significant processing and transport infrastructure.
  • The project has access to over two billion tonnes of measured indicated and inferred magnetite ore and, when operational, will be one of the world’s largest mines. It will process 84 million tonnes of ore per annum, to produce sales of 27.6 million tonnes per annum of both pellets and concentrate.
  • The mine’s end product – magnetite, in concentrate and pellets – is an important commodity as it is one of the raw materials used to make steel.
